Gabriel ran off and put his hands over his face, in what appeared to be a nod towards Gyokeres' famed celebration, in which he covers his mouth with clasped hands — though in this instance, the defender put them over his eyes instead. Gyokeres was uncharacteristically quiet in the first half, despite scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City earlier this season.
Gabriel has now scored three goals this season, having also found the net against both Tottenham and Manchester City in the Premier League. Last season, he scored four times, so two more strikes would see him sail past last term's tally.
Arsenal play West Ham in a high-stakes London derby this weekend. The Gunners are currently fourth in the Premier League table, nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
